One of the best qualities a Document Controller can have is to be organised.

Create a clear filing structure: Develop a good, clear filing structure to help improve searchability.


Make a to do list: Take time, either at the beginning of the day or just before you go home, to list what you need to do. Try to put items in order of importance.


Stop switch tasking: Starting a task, putting it back in the to-do pile and then switching to another isnโ€™t the most efficient way of dealing with things! If youโ€™re faced with a long to-do list, pick a job and complete it before moving onto the next thing.
